A trip to vagamon..

Vagamon, known as scotland of Asia , the tranquil land, at 1050 m above sealevel on the outskirts of western ghats, is resting right on the border of two districts of kerala; kottayam and idukkii..it is my evertime favorite spot to hangout, a magical world..

The sun is not awake yet ;..moon is still spreading colors in its horizon ..i can hear the chirping of birds, songs of beetles , and can feel the soft touch of cool breeze ,we are starting our journey..

Approaching the Vagamon, I can feel the chilling mystic soothing ambience.. The 14 meadow hills in Vagamon, keeps the atmosphere at 15-20 degree Celsius even during summer seasons..it’s just amazing..

The misty Hills, ridges and mystic dales. Wow it’s different each time.. The hills are open to public from 8.30am to 6pm.she is too cloudy now, seems to have a drizzle soon… There are many lightening arresters for visitor’s safety from lightening, the silvery white clouds are caressing them and the mist is covering the hills like a thick blanket of wool..we can see some cattle are grazing in the lap of vast meadows. .

In the middle of the grandeur of the greenery, there is lake which is calm and serene with mystery and depth, where we can do boating, kayaking, zip lining. During boating the wind took us in different directions like it is enjoying our company by playing with us..was an invigorating refreshing experience..

Thangal para(a muslim pilgrim site), Kurishumala (a Christian pilgrimage site),Muruganmala(a hindu pilgrimage site) are the main hill views from Vagamon which shows a religious harmony of religions of kerala, three of them are situated like holding hand-in- hand. Trekking lovers creates a world here. It is really a trekking paradise.

Tea and coffee plantations are there on both sides of the path. The soothing fragrance from flowers of coffee plantation will take us to a different world..shhh listen..can u hear anything?? the breeze is whispering something..yes the life stories and hard work of the farmers of the hill top who maintain the lush green plantations fresh forever..i think they are just loving the nature than anyone in this world.

Kappakkanam, the next destination, an incredible spot. It’s a jeep safari through the crux of Kappakkanam forest , soulful exhilarating experience of crossing rivers, passing through wild wooden bridges and breathing the pleasing fragrance of nature. The river forms a beautiful water falls there and then flowing and heading towards a tunnel, it was an unexplored area for me till now..that’s vagamon ,its always have something to explore new.

Pine forests.., the masterpiece of Vagamon..a marvelous creation of nature in Kolahalamedu. It stretches with some puzzling mysterious beauty and create some wordless thrill while we explore through the inner ways of the tree rows.

Till now we experienced the balming beauty of Vagamon, the paragliding and trekking takes us to a different level of adventure.

Paragliding season starts from October to March.During paragliding we are jumping from a height of 900 meters. After the jump we will fly upwards like a feather ,there comes a mixed feeling of both nervousness and excitement. Not just excitement it is extremelyy excitinggg ..then slowly downwards..down ..down

Wow..a 360 degree view from the top.. spellbinding one..all the tree topped mountains ,green meadows, dam stretches in blue color ,rivers in milky white, sunrays imparts yellow touches to all the beneath..feels like a colour palette on the lap of nature. Finally I touched ground.,really an amazing experience..one should definitely go for paragliding once in a lifetime.
